Highlights from a fall portrait session in D.C.

Last week Erie, PA got about 6 or 7 total feet of snow. Right in the middle of this was a shoot planned with my friend Amanda

As of writing this article, the best selling camera on Amazon is a Fuji Instax Mini 9. The instant film craze isn't new and undoubtedly popular. I'm proposing you try something different though- get a real old Polaroid camera.

I can never keep myself from piling on more projects. I don't consider that a bad thing though.

I recently read an article about The Creative World's Bullshit Industrial Complex. It talked about how individuals in the creative industry like to "appear" authoritative when they actually aren't.

I live near Presque Isle State Park. Presque Isle is a wonderful natural treasure with incredible beaches, trails and access to wildlife.

Franklin, PA is a wonderful little town with great history and some fantastic locations for portraits!

Last week I went out for a shoot with Cara. We had a plan ready to go: a brightly lit dance studio, awesome dance outfits, and some acrylic paint.

Over the past few years I've created a few how-to and tutorial blogs. Some are still relevant while others have become outdated. 

While working in photography can have plenty of serious moments (like weddings) it's great to be able to kick back and have a few laughs during a photoshoot. 

This week we revisited Arika and Mady with a make-shift studio in the kitchen.

Last week I met up with Dana Marie for some portraits.

There are two "golden hours" in the day, and before I only paid attention to one of them but that has finally changed!

Sunset was 10 minutes before starting, the wind was picking up, and it started to rain.

I had a wonderful chance to try out flash photography in a studio setting recently. My good friend Cara along with her friends Lauren and Abby were excellent models! Check out some the photos we made below.

There has been some speculation and debate on what the word "photographer" means, it's by no means a new discussion. 

I'd like to announce the reveal of a new project I've been working on. 

Film photography has been a recent pursuit of mine and a wonderful experience. I hope to share this experience and get others involved in film photography as well.
