2017 Portrait Series - Early Morning Portraits

There are two "golden hours" in the day, and before I only paid attention to one of them but that has finally changed!

Nikon D750 | 85mm F1.8 | F/2.8 | 1/160s | 100 ISO

Bekah and I met at 6:30 AM in order to try and take advantage of the beautiful light you can find just after sunrise. I was personally very pleased with the results, and despite my usual protests to getting up early I think I will be doing it much more often in the future. We took these photos at a local farm with a rather basic kit of an 85mm and 50mm lens (some of my favorites for portraits).

Nikon D750 | 50mm F1.8 | F/5 | 1/125s | ISO 1000

As a side benefit to the beautiful light, after we were done with the shoot it was time for breakfast!

Check out the rest of the shoot below!

How early would you(or already) get up for photos?
