5 Great Places to Take Photos at in Erie Pennsylvania
1. Presque Isle State Park
An obvious start to this list. I could probably do a whole list just on places in the park to take photos, but the short list includes any of the beaches, sidewalk trail, Perry Monument, and the lighthouse. You can find a map of the park on the DCNR website.
Beach 10 at the end of the peninsula is a great place to start taking photos on Presque Isle State Park.
2. State Street
One of the nice things about Erie is that you can go from beaches and woods to an urban setting within a 20 minute drive. State street, especially around The Warner and the steps of the Erie Art Museum are great locations to take some street and fashion shots!
State Street has just the right amount of city-look without having to travel all the way to Pittsburgh or Cleveland.
3. Penn State Behrend
On top of Behrend being an arboretum and having a variety of trees on campus, the gorge just beside it is an excellent photo and hiking spot. Behrend Fields is great for open space and some great walking bridges.

4. Frontier Park
Frontier Park is great if you want a more traditional park setting for your photos and don't want to drive all the way out to Presque Isle. The bridges that cross Cascade Creek are a great place to start here.
The foot bridges across Cascade Creek at Frontier Park are a great location for sunny summer photos.
5. Erie Bluffs State Park
If you want cliffs overlooking the lake, Erie Bluffs is the place to go. Great hiking location and much quieter than Frontier Park or Presque Isle.
Erie Bluffs State Park has amazing vistas overlooking Lake Erie.
Where are your favorite locations to get photos in Erie?
I’m curious to hear your thoughts. When you flip through instagram and you see a friend in a beautiful exotic location, how do you react to it compared to a photo they take in an obscure restaurant (or any innocuous unidentifiable location)?
